Post-Thanksgiving Musings

Damn this blog!! I had a bunch of stuff written for this stupid thing and it managed to lose it all! So I start again.

Hello all!
It has been a couple weeks since I last bored you with the details of my life. So here is another boring update:

Sarah is in Phoenix (has been since the 15th) doing two rotations (psychiatric and ER) down there. She comes back for two weeks around Christmas and I'll be going down there at least once. The distance thing sucks, but we've done it before, so we can handle 3 months!

The best part about Sarah being gone is that I have obtained full custody of Spanky, our 7-year-old miniature schnauzzer. He is a badass dog and it's nice to be able to have him all the time instead of having to steal him from Sarah when I want to see him! He's little (20 lbs), but he's not a little yapper dog that I tend to hate.

What else is there that is interesting. . . still waiting to go skiing for the first time this season. . . can't wait for Christmas to get here. . . just working and eating and sleeping. . . The Office is my new favorite TV show. . . this weekend I am planning on going to the Parade of Lights and to see Harry Potter with my brother. . . the car is great: Robert and I named her "Carmella" - don't drive her much because I take the bus to work every day. . . Thanksgiving was a good time (even with the womanpiece out of town) - the Broncos won and Mama Flick's cooking has never been better. . . still working on the Galaxie from time to time - tried to start it up last weekend and it didn't go - we have a few simple solutions to try before we have to start using our more expensive solutions. . . playing racquetball at least once a week - getting good enough to put myself into a position to get raged by the ball at least once a game. . .

Not too much going on. I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Talk to you soon.

My New Car

Here it is. The new ride. The reason that I get up every day. Just kidding. Or am I? It is a fun car and a huge step up over the Go-Cart. As much as I miss adding a quart of oil every other trip to the gas station, feeling like my ass is dragging on the ground, feeding the four hamsters running the engine, and getting out to push it up hills, I think I like this one better. It is loaded on the inside with a 6 disc CD player and all the other upgrades. I got a sweet deal and I can't wait for the snow to start falling to test out the 4-wheel drive!

Not much new to report from Lakewood. The past week or so, I have been spending every possible minute with the womanpiece because she leaves Tuesday for Phoenix. She couldn't set up two of her rotations in Denver, so she has to go back to Arizona for 3 months. I'm not too excited about it, but there is nothing I can do about it. She does get to come back for 2 weeks at Christmas and I'm sure I will be down there at least once in the next few months. So all is not lost. Plus, at the rate the last 6 months have gone, those three months will disappear faster than a Twinkie at Deppe's house. In the mean time, I will console myself by skiing ridiculous amounts and working on Robert's Galaxie. Hopefully next week, we will try starting it up. Cross your fingers!

Besides that, my life is pretty boring. I've gone to all but the first CSU football game, visited with Dunham, Rosie, and Kyle when they were in town, got my skis ready for the season, read a few books on the bus to and from work, and have kept myself out of trouble for the most part. Hope everything is going well with you all.

Mike
